Starting from today, the flights'
exchange with China has been put on hold.
The last flight by Air Astana arrived today bringing back home the
Kazakhstani citizens who volunteered to leave China.
- The passengers of this flight
are mainly students and the personnel of various representations who
were working in China. They all leave their
contacts before going home, - said Mr
Zhanger Zhanadilov, the Chief Manager on shift at the airport.
- No additional measures were
taken so far. Other airlines are also
going to stop flights to China. Beside Air
Astana, such flights were operated by China Xinjiang
Airlines, who also stopped their flights, -
said Ms Lilya Batechina,
assistant to the President, Almaty Airport.
At the Airport, usual disinfection measures take place on a regular
basis. The airport management consider these along with putting the
flights to/from China on hold will put a reliable barrier preventing
